Trippin' Home...

We are headed to Warsaw, IN on Saturday. We will be gone for the week. (If you are a burglar and now know we are going to be gone, we don't have much that is worth a whole lot. Just leave our sweet cats alone, and my mom will be checking on the house; she knows Karate and is a pistol packin' Mama!) I am looking forward to seeing everyone. I miss our family and church and friends.... We will be going to our church on Sunday and have many goings-on to attend. It is always hard to see all the folks who we want to see... We are blessed to have so many wonderful friends..

Ok, I am about to post pictures that I have been meaning to post here, but Hubster has the monopoly on the lap top. We have a desk top, but the lap top is the only one of the two that has the proper input computer stuff so I can up load these pics...

These are random photos that I have wanted to share...

Winds of Change.

Spring is technically here. But, it's chilly out this morning. I am still enjoying the flannel sheets, a warm sweater in the morning, and a good cup of hot coffee to warm my hands, while I am trying to chase the sleep out of my eyes...

God's moving. I can feel the Holy Spirit really moving. And usually when I can feel the Holy Spirit moving like this, something BIG is about to happen. I am excited and know whatever that is, I know that God is moving us forward toward prosperity. AND, moving us forward toward BABIES!! We are getting closer and closer to becoming parents. No, I am not preggers. We know that we want to be able to provide for our babies properly, and there are a few more things that need to fall into place before that happens. Keep us in your prayers as we seek God's will and plan for us!

Faith, With Gravy.

The rest is gravy. Mashed potatoes 'n gravy. Riding the gravy train. Biscuits 'n gravy. Mmmm. Just the thought of gravy – my mama's beef gravy, especially over her homemade extra whipped, super light 'n fluffy, perfectly salted mashed potatoes – makes my mouth water.

Gravy has creped into the English language to not only mean that hot, tasty magma that makes my potatoes perfect, but also to mean extra, the added benefits of something, more than enough, benefits.

Often I forget and seemingly need to be reminded that God gives me gravy. Every day his gravy is available to me; I just for get to say, "Please pass the gravy!"

Psalm 103:2-5 reminds us Christians to REMEMBER gravy!, to remember the BENEFITS of knowing and loving God. God did not have to give us gravy! Trust me – his potatoes and biscuits are plenty good with out the added deliciousness of his gravy. BUT, he did. He gave us benefits. He gives us those benefits every day!! We just need to remember those benefits!

God's gravy:

  1. He pardons our sins! (v. 3 a.) Period. He forgives us no matter what! No matter WHAT! It's good to be reminded of that!
  2. He heals our bodies! (v. 3 b.) Daily we can ask for and receive God's healing gravy! (Yes, please!) We can be delivered from that migraine, or back ache or whatever ails us! He heals the big stuff like cancer and diabetes, but we must remember that he does not want us to suffer with the day to day aches and pains!
  3. He redeems our lives from THE PIT! (v. 4) Any size pit! Big pit, small pit, debt pit, sickness pit, despair pit, divorce pit, loss of a loved one pit, loss of job pit, term paper pit, car wreck pit, loss of a pet pit, etc. Any pit you can think of. God is the full on SWAT team who brings in the rescue helicopters, EMTs, search and rescue dogs, volunteer fired department. All of his resources are used to rescue you and redeem you from whatever pit you seem to be stuck in!
  4. He crowns us with loving kindness and compassion! (v 4 b.) When I read this, I see an image of Christ placing his warm, healing hands on my head and once his hands touch my head, my whole being is overcome with a warm sensation of his love and compassion.
  5. He satisfies my years with GOOD things, so that my youth is renewed like the eagle. (v. 5) The older I get, the tighter I cling to this benefit. What "good things" satisfy me? A good cup of hot coffee in the morning. Seeing my husband smile and hearing him laugh out loud! Our furry, purring feline companions. A comfortable pair of shoes. A warm, soft place to sleep. Pants with elastic waist bands! Good music. Really good food. Heck, any food. Fellowship with good friends. All of these "good things" renew my youth like the eagle, which is a symbol of true freedom, power and strength. God gives me GRAVY: his beautiful benefits, which renews my freedom, power and strength as his child, and as a woman of God.

Psalm 103 reminds us to remember these things, to remember God's gravy. I say, "Yes, Lord! Please pass the gravy!"

Been a while...

Wow. I have not blogged in over a month! Time flies! I have been caught up in Facebook, which is a wonderful networking tool that has allowed me to reconnect with many friends who are scattered all over the world!

I am still loving being a housewife. I applied to substitute teach at my alma mater high school, but have not been called yet. I'd like a little extra spending money, but if I am not called, that's okay too.

We are on a normal schedule now, and have been since after Christmas. I got more things done when we were on a more ridged schedule, but I like living 1st shift better.

The whole dog adoption thing... well, I am glad we went through that. We have decided that we are definitely cat-people. We do enjoy dogs, but cats just fit our life right now. I do believe that later in life we will have a dog or two. But, we have decided that we will get our dog from a puppy so we can really bond with it and train it. I wouldn't mind to have another cat or two. They are just so much fun, and we enjoy having them lounging on us and around us.

Spring is coming! Daylight Savings Time changes this weekend. I like the fall time change best, when we gain an hour. It always takes me a couple weeks to get use to the spring time change.

As far as Wilhite family news goes, all I can say as this time is that we are preparing and praying about change. We could move again, but that is not certain. As Brandon reminded me, we will continue to move UP. Satan was screwing with my head and trying to tell me that if we move that we won't find a nice place to live, that our standard of living will go down, that we will have to settle for less than God's best. Yes, I had those thoughts, but my sweet hubby reminded me that when we move again, our standard of living will go up, that God will continue to prosper us. It was like a 150 watt light bulb turned on in my head. Satan is such a bastard. He really likes to keep us fearful so that we DON'T experience God's best for us. So, yesterday was a good day, and God reminded me that He IS prospering us. He IS giving us His best. He IS bestowing his favor on us.... HE IS... It's so good to rest in that thought.
